How to Structure a Single-Post Layout Using a Single Template

Starting with theme version 1.8.0, Foxiz theme provides you with single blocks in the Ruby Template that allow you to customize your template layout more easily for your website.

What can you do with a Single Template?

• Create as many templates as you need and assign them to different posts
• You can customize the layout of individual posts on your website.
• You can choose where to place different elements, such as the post title, featured image, content, meta bar, and comments section.

To get started, follow the steps below:

1. Create your template and copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates. To create a template, you can refer to this documentation: Ruby Templates
   
2. In the Elementor control panel, you can search for the “Foxiz – Post” blocks.
   
3. After you search for “Foxiz – Post”, you can drag and drop the blocks inside.
4. You can rearrange the placement of those blocks to create your own custom single layout.
5. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout
6. Input the shortcode into the Template Shortcode option

To add a template, you need to set it up for each post type.

–  For the standard, follow the steps below:

1. Copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates.
2. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout > for Standard Post > Template Shortcode
3. Input the shortcode into the Template Shortcode option
4. Click “Save Changes”

–  For the video, follow the steps below:

1. Copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates.
2. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout > for Video Post Format > Video Template Shortcode
3. Input the shortcode into the Video Template Shortcode option
4. Click “Save Changes”

–  For the audio, follow the steps below:

1. Copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates.
2. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout > for Audio Post Format > Audio Template Shortcode
3. Input the shortcode into the Audio Template Shortcode option
4. Click “Save Changes”

–  For the gallery, follow the steps below:

1. Copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates.
2. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout > for Gallery Post Format > Gallery Template Shortcode
3. Input the shortcode into the Gallery Template Shortcode option
4. Click “Save Changes”

–  For the Custom Post Type, follow the steps below:

1. Copy the shortcode of the template, please navigate to Dashboard > Ruby Templates.
2. Navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Single Post > Layout > for Custom Post Type > Post Type Layout – Template Shortcode
3. Input the shortcode into the Post Type Layout – Template Shortcode option
4. Click “Save Changes”

For each individual post

1. Navigate to Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
2. The select post you would like to edit, then click on the edit link > Single Post Settings > Template Builder
3. Input the shortcode input the form Template Shortcode setting
   
4. Click “Publish/Update”
