Replacing Categories with Tags and Limiting Tag Usage within Page Categories

Since version 2.2.2, the theme offers the option to replace Categories with Post Tags. Retaining identical category information within categories is not an optimal approach. Instead, replacing it with post tags enhances interaction.

Global Settings

PLEASE NOTE: The setting only applies to predefined templates. For the category page built with the Ruby Template please adjust the setting in the “Elementor Block Settings > Style > Entry Category > Replace Category by Taxonomy“.
  1. To get started, navigate to Foxiz Admin > Theme Options > Category > Entry Category Icon > Replace Category by Post Tags

  2. Replace Category by Post Tags: Enable this feature to display post tags.
  3. Click “Save Changes

Replace Category with Post Tags on Ruby Template

  1. To get started, navigate to Ruby Templates > Category Template and click “Edit with Elementor

  2. In the Elementor editor, simply click on the block you wish to modify and navigate to Elementor Block Settings > Style > Entry Category > Replace Category by Taxonomy, then select “Tags”

Setting Maximum Post Tags

To set maximum post tags to show, navigate to “Theme Options > Theme Design > Entry Category > Max Category Icons if Choose Post Tags

Set a Primary Tag for a Post

It is useful in case you have posts with a lot of tags and you want to display only one in listings. To get started, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the post editor page Posts > Edit Post.
  2. Scroll down the page to look for the “Single Post Settings” panel and click “Primary Category & Tag” tab
  3. Select your tag under the “Primary Tag” option.
  4. Click on the “Update” button to save your changes.
