How to Display Custom Post Types and Taxonomy in Elementor Blocks

Power up your website and build complex websites with Foxiz Theme. Starting with theme version 1.8.0, the Elementor blocks also support custom post types. In the Elementor Builder content options, you can choose a custom post type.

To learn how how to enable or disable the custom post types, please continue reading below.

The settings below allow you to query any taxonomies and post types created by code or third-party plugins.

The Category or categories filters will not be available if you choose to query a custom post type. Please use the taxonomy settings below to set up your query.

How To Enable Custom Post Type On Elementor Builder

To get started, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Pages > All Pages.
  2. Select a page you would like to edit, and click on the “Edit with Elementor” link.
  3. Navigate to the Live Editor and select a block you would like to edit
  4. In the settings panel for Block in this template, navigate to Content > Post Type & Taxonomies > Custom Post Type
  5. Select a custom post type for displaying your custom post type.
  6. Define Taxonomy: Input the taxonomy slug you created via code or a 3rd party plugin. It is the string after “edit-tags.php?taxonomy=” when you are on the edit page of the taxonomy. After inputring the Define Taxonomy option, you will need to input the Taxonomy Slugs to filter the display of posts.
  7. Taxonomy Slugs: Filter posts by multiple taxonomy slugs, separated by commas (e.g. tax1, tax2, tax3). Leave blank to disable.
  8. Query Operator:

    -Default (IN) –: This option is used to filter or include taxonomies based on the Taxonomy Slugs option above, meaning that posts only need to have one of the specified taxonomies to be displayed.
    NOT IN: This option is used to exclude specific taxonomies based on the Taxonomy Slugs option above, meaning that posts with that taxonomy will not be displayed.
    AND: This option is used to filter and include taxonomies based on the Taxonomy Slugs option above, indicating that posts must have all of the specified taxonomies to be displayed.
